How do we learn not to contract — mentally, physically, emotionally — in the face of fear?
In this Wisdom Talk, iBme lead teacher Jessica Morey weaves together classical teachings, stories, personal experience, and reflection to explore 4 ways of working with fear. Drawing on timeless Buddhist teachings, Jessica shares four qualities of heart and mind that we can actively cultivate — at all times, and especially during times of heightened fear.
* 4 Ways of Working with Fear was recorded live during an online iBme retreat with Harvard University in the context of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Jessica Morey began practicing meditation at age 14 in the Insight Meditation Society teen retreats. She participated for 10 years in an IMS young-adult mentoring group and has attended longer (1-3 month) retreats in Asia and the US. She is a founding board member and lead teacher for iBme teen retreats. Her article for Mindful Magazine, “Finding My Way”, explores the benefits of mindfulness during her young-adult years.
